Wizkid’s latest album, Morayo, has set a new benchmark for music in Nigeria by breaking Spotify Nigeria’s record for the most single-day streams.
The album garnered 12 million streams locally, doubling the previous record set by Asake’s Lungu Boy.
Globally, Morayo achieved 16.27 million streams in its first 24 hours, marking the biggest debut for an African album.
The hit song “Kese (Dance)” from the album also smashed Spotify Nigeria’s record for most single-day streams for a track, surpassing Wizkid’s own “Piece Of My Heart.”
