Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State announced that civil servants would begin receiving a new minimum wage of seventy-three thousand naira starting in November.
Speaking at a fitness event celebrating Public Service Week in Akure today, he affirmed his administration’s dedication to workers’ welfare, stressing that his commitment is not politically motivated but stems from genuine care for employees.
Aiyedatiwa highlighted the importance of motivated staff and promised to exceed past achievements if re-elected. “Anything we have done for civil servants has never been politically driven,” Aiyedatiwa stated. “If workers are not happy, they won’t be encouraged. That is why we have always prioritized their welfare.”
Ondo’s Head of Service, Bayo Philips, praised the governor’s efforts in supporting civil servants with timely salary payments, regular promotions, and consistent pension disbursements.
