The Federal Government yesterday promised to address all “soft threats” by labor unions in the country.
It will be recalled that University based unions recently had some issues with the government on salaries and other matters.
While some have been addressed by the government, others are still pending, as the new Minister of Labor and Employment, Muhammadu Dingyadi, has promised that all outstanding issues would be resolved.
Dingyadi gave the assurance on his first day of assumption at the ministry’s conference hall Abuja where he addressed staff and head of agencies within the ministry.
The Minister, who promised to carry everybody along as much as possible, asserted that he would listen to all labor organizations and issues, adding that the major schedule of the ministry is to ensure harmony as well as harmonious working relationship between workers and employees, labor unions, government and private organizations.
