Controversies Continue After Ondo Election As Analyst Adeyanju Condemns Alleged Vote buying

Criticism has continued to trail the Ondo Election after the victory of the incumbent governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in all the 18 local government areas of the state, defeating his closest rival and a former deputy governor of the state Ajayi Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who raked in one hundred and seventeen thousand and eight hundred and forty five votes.

Analyst Ibrahim Adeyanju has also joined the Public in analyzing the Saturday election, saying the issue of vote buying embroidered with poverty is part of the element obstructing the credibility of election , citing that the vote might be of advantage to the higher bidder .

Adeyanju who spoke during the Royal Fm Morning Mix,Ilorin, stressed the need for political candidates in trusting the Residential Electoral Commission body reflecting on opposition parties earlier call for the dismissal of the REC chairman.

While commending other political parties who stake out all effort to campaign despites having two leading parties to counter, Adeyanju stated that the country is moving towards where the electorate understand that money does not determine winning the election.

Meanwhile, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has stated that he was not aware that his political associates bought votes on his behalf, noting that the oppositions are using the vote-buying allegation as an excuse for their loss.
